Post Production Insurance

With over 250 clients, we are the UK’s leading provider of insurance policies to Camera Operators and Sound Recordists.

We’ve been providing insurance to Post production companies for over 20 years. In that time we’ve handled hundreds of claims and we’ve not had a single complaint. Our administration and claims service are second to none.

What our Insurance Policy Covers:

Our standard policy provides New for Old, All Risks Insurance for your equipment anywhere in the UK & Europe or Worldwide. It includes cover for hire of alternative equipment free of charge.

You can then add any of the following options:
Hired In Equipment (including free loss of hire charges cover)

  • Public Liability
  • Employers Liability
  • Professional Indemnity
Our policies are extremely competitive. We’ve often charged half of what a client’s previous broker has been charging.

Our policies are also very flexible: We don’t limit the amount of equipment you can keep in your vehicle, or ask you to remove it at night. Nor do we insist you have an expensive alarm at your premises.

If your insurance is due in the next month please complete the form below, email us or give us a call for a quote. It will take less than 5 minutes and there’s no hard sell.

If your insurance is not due, why not fill out the form, email your renewal date to us and we can contact you nearer the time, and save you the hassle of remembering when you have better things to do?

Got a question? We’re here to help.
  • What is a New for Old policy ?

With new-for-old policies, so that any item that is damaged is immediately replaced with a like-for-like new product. It means that you will get a nice new equipment rather than just the amount of money that the old one was worth.

  • What is "All Risks" wording in my policy ?

This is a type of business insurance policy which provides a very broad level of cover. In our policy it also includes cover for hire of alternative equipment free of charge.

On an All Risks policy this will still contain some specific exclusions that we will point out to you.

  • Can I add other cover to my Insurance Policy ?

Yes you can, you can also add the following onto the policy at any time.

    • Hired In Equipment (including free loss of hire charges cover)

  • What Insurance do Post Production Companies need ?

Every Post Production Company is different as the conditions and location vary for each business. However majority of claims are for broken or lost equipment.  In the unlikely event of a loss you can't afford to replace all of it in one go. Insuring your equipment,  means you don’t have to worry.

You should have some Public Liability insurance too, because third parties and their property also need looking after. If you or your equipment accidently damage something or someone, you can be sued for compensation. Public liability insurance means your insurer picks up the tab instead.

If you have employees (including part-timers, unpaid helpers, temps and interns) the Health and Safety Executive wants you to have employers’ liability insurance. This is a legal requirement.

If you value your brand reputation, it’s good practice to carry some Professional Indemnity insurance. This will cover the work you do, and cover you for any actions taken by a client who might feel your work was not right.  We include this within all our policies as standard as it's that important’
